High security

Found this picture on another blog.

These are lockers to put your motorbike in whilst shopping at a Carrefour supermarket in France. Must be in a rough area, as when I've been in France it's normal to see bikes parked without any locks and with a helmet left hanging on a mirror!

  1. I've just done a couple of thousand miles round France and didn't see the like.

Mind you, I do tend to steer clear of Supermarkets and didn't get to Marseilles.

I agree that vehicle security is lax - coming down out of the mountains - aah, mountains! - I stopped for a coffee, and sure enough outside the lovely rural cafe was a car running - and it was still there when I left - Petrol's pricey in France too!

  2. Where about in France were you? I'm planning two trips there next year. The 'Coupes Moto Legende' in Dijon in May, plus I'm thinking of a tour taking in the high passes in the Pyrenees in late August/early September.
Have you posted any photos or a report on your trip anywhere? If you don't have a blog, you could e-mail something to me and I'll post it here.

  3. Kind offer Norman, but I am toying with the idea of setting up a blog, maybe, one day.

  4. You should do, it's very straightforward and it only took me about half an hour to get this one up and running (and I'm not the most computer literate person out there!)
