This blog started when I owned and MZ Skorpion Traveller and a bike magazine dismissed it with the phrase 'you can't tour on a single'. The Skorpion's gone and was replaced by a Triumph Bonneville which I owned for ten years. My main bike now is a 2006 BMW R1200ST. I can't be bothered changing the name of the blog, so we're stuck with it!

Friday bike
Now for something completely different. A steam powered motorcycle. Website
There's a video on YouTube of it running:
Build one of these and sneer at people with diesel bikes!!
Sounds dangerous, when can I ride one? A long time ago I got to control a steam locomotive for a short while. I was working for the railroad museum project in Sacramento, and we were moving the loco for a special event. Definitely a feeling of power. The sounds and smells were fascinating. Maybe there should be a sidecar attached, and make it a woodburner. Your fireman could ride in the sidecar, with the fuel.
It's the power-source of the future, I tell you!
