Friday bike update

Thanks to my friend Gareth who identified the Honley 250 Venturer as a rebadged Minsk TRX 300i.
Minsk are a Belarus based company more famous for their Soviet era 125cc two strokes, but have moved on to more modern designs.
Three TRXs recently took part in an event where they rode 10,000 km (6200 miles) through Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Armenia.

Interesting to see if these sell in the UK, and more choice of models from more manufacturers is always a good thing. Especially if they are singles you can tour on!

  1. Very interesting Norman...again, another bike I've never heard of. I like the idea of smaller sized bikes these days. Looks like they were tough enough for the trip. At the Facebook page I noticed a pic of a bike that looked very 'Honda-ish'. I wonder if this bike is a cloning of an established brand....?

  2. I found it by chance when I was looking for something else. A very nice bike and if they get the quality/spares backup/price equation right, then it deserves to sell. Problem is that in the UK the market for 250s is close to zero. If it was 400 - 500cc, then it would be a different story.

  3. Think the minsk is carb but honley is fuel injection

  4. Probably needs the fuel injection to pass Western pollution tests. Can't imagine that they bother with sort of thing in Belarus.
