Found these sad pictures on the Web.
These Harley-Davidsons were formarly used by the Traffic Police of Peru Policía de Tránsito del Perú, and just seemed to have been dumped at the end of their lives. You'd think they would sell them on as 'projects' to try and recoup some of the cost.
At least one bike has been saved and restored.
Where in Peru is this?
ReplyDeleteSomewhere in Lima apparently
DeleteWo w ill take 5 ,, :-)
ReplyDeleteSorry, I've no idea whereabouts in Peru this is, I found a link to the photos on a website. I would think that the Peruvian Harley Davidson Club would be the most likely to know. I think this is a shocking waste of bikes which even if they aren't in roadworthy condition would at least be a source of spares.
ReplyDeleteAny further details on the locatiin of this place is?
ReplyDeleteSorry, still no more info.
ReplyDeletei read that it is in LIMA
ReplyDeleteLima , Peru
ReplyDeleteHi, I've sent an email to the governing body for the police in Peru to see where these bikes are and if they are for sale... let's see what happens.
ReplyDeleteDid you get a response?
DeleteUpdate: I saw a mention of these bikes recently on another Website. Apparently they were eventually sold off for the equivalent of US$1300 each. I have no other information about who was selling them or whether any bikes are left.
ReplyDeleteThere are in Puente Piedra near LIma
