This blog started when I owned and MZ Skorpion Traveller and a bike magazine dismissed it with the phrase 'you can't tour on a single'. The Skorpion's gone and I now have a Triumph Bonneville, but I can't be bothered changing the title of the blog!

Friday bike
Found a bike on British Ebay. that I hadn't heard of before.
1984 Yamaha SRX250 (note rusty chain!)
Not a model sold in the UK, the SRX just looks so light and neat.
Some version have a round headlight, some a square, and most that I could find on the Web had a neat half fairing.
Friend had a SRX600. It was a pig to kick-start. Most big singles are. He loved the bike, but hated the grief. He ended up buying a grey-import SRX400. A Japanese home-market version with an electric start. He had looked at the 250, but wanted something bigger. The Japanese mostly get 250/400 versions of bigger bikes that get sold in Europe/USA.
