This blog started when I owned and MZ Skorpion Traveller and a bike magazine dismissed it with the phrase 'you can't tour on a single'. The Skorpion's gone and I now have a Triumph Bonneville, but I can't be bothered changing the title of the blog!

40 years, man and boy
Forty years ago today I arranged an afternoon off school, put a combat jacket on over my school uniform, rode to Paisley test centre on my Honda CD175, and passed my bike test.
Yes - well done getting your bike licence at 17. You'd only been riding since July(?) I feel I had a small part in your success by pointing out the unmarked crossroads near the Paisley test centre that I rode through without stopping on my first attempt at the test.
So that's what the new licenses look like....still have my paper license issued back about 40s ago, good for another 12 years. Only the one code on it for motorcycle....the new ones look like you need a directory to suss out the codes.
