Winter's coming

Better get down to Halfords for some new bike clothes.

  1. At least the waxed cotton was waterproof unlike some of the so called stuff nowadays.

    1. Waxed cotton was waterproof for a while but after the first time you reproofed it, it never was quite as good again. As for modern stuff, you're always taking a risk unless it's Gore-Tex. After all W.L. Gore (makers of Gore-Tex) wouldn't put this statement on their website if it didn't work:

'If you are not completely satisfied with the waterproofness, windproofness, or breathability of your GORE-TEX® product, then we will repair it, replace it, or refund your purchase price. No matter which of our trusted customers makes the product, if it has the GORE-TEX® label on it, we have certified that it is durably waterproof, windproof and breathable for its intended use.'

      Why buy anything else?
