This blog started when I owned and MZ Skorpion Traveller and a bike magazine dismissed it with the phrase 'you can't tour on a single'. The Skorpion's gone and was replaced by a Triumph Bonneville which I owned for ten years. My main bike now is a 2006 BMW R1200ST. I can't be bothered changing the name of the blog, so we're stuck with it!

Mystery bike
This week's Mystery bike was suggested by Pat Brennan.
OK folks, what is it, and what is its Marxist connection?
Continuing a previous topic, note that it has a fishtail exhaust.
It's an Marman Twin from the late '40s. Intended as a rival to the Whizzer it wasn't a success. The company was started by Marx brother Zeppo. He also invented the Marman clamp that looks like a superior version of the jubilee clip.
You must be hacking my computer to see what I'm looking at!! The Marmen clamp was also used to retain the atom bombs used in WWII. I'll write a proper article on the Marman later.
